1931 Ariel SQ4 - New motor parts for the project

As seen on the previous motor pages, it was noted that the engine did not have that many chances of recovery, so I had to find another one.

I succeded in dooing so in 2004, where I found a trunk load of 1931 4F500 (Engine number R) parts, all shown below:

IMG_4472.JPG (59631 bytes)IMG_4473.JPG (72434 bytes) Observe these Original Gaskets - Still with the pricetag on them.

IMG_4460.JPG (92737 bytes)IMG_4459.JPG (71031 bytes) The gas tank looks like it has been on fire, and there are a large dent on top that looks like it has been attemped to be repaired with solder.

When visiting Holland, I made a trip past Willem so se his impressive collection of Ariels. and I had called in advance and ask him if he had any more oilpumps left for the cammy / sloper engine, and as he did I paid Willem a visit.

When I retruned back to the hotel, my car was carrying a now and shiny oilpump, a 600 cc cammy head in very good condition (only missing a few fins), a 600 cc rocker box in verry good condition and a Gearbox casing in very good condition.

Thanks Willem, this is for sure a great step foreward in my quest for getting one more Cammy on the Roads.
